After the last KPNA meeting and presentation about the planned new retail development in SW Kutzky, we had a request to post some images on the website. Good idea! The people at Yaggy-Colby agreed, so here they are--have a look. The location is on the north side of Second Street SW, between McDonald's and Highway 52. The plan is for high-end retail shops, with the second floor (west end) occupied by The Melting Pot, a restaurant with rooftop patio.

Thanks to all those who turned out for last night's KPNA meeting. In addition to a police officer who was available to answer questions, we had a last-minute addition to the agenda--reps from Yaggy Colby with a presentation on the plans for Shoppes on Second...a new proposed development on Second Street SW and Hwy 52. It looks to be a very nice addition to the neighborhood.
Other items--
Save the date of Saturday, April 21, for park clean-up day
Watch for Med-City Marathon updates--May 27--more volunteers needed
Neighborhood rummage sale in the works for this spring.

We received the following from a neighbor in the 800 block of 2nd Street NW:
We were in Ireland recently, visiting Fionnuala's mother who has been battling cancer for a couple of years. We went over so our girls could visit while she is still hanging in there. During the big snow storm, one of our neighbors shoveled our snow. Our house sitter was so happy! I just wanted to say thank you to whoever did it and to let them know it was a real lifted burden to not have to worry about it during this stressful time. Thank you - Thank you!Attached is the agenda for tonight's meeting.

THANK YOU to those of you who've helped out others on your block by doing a little extra snow-blowing or shoveling after the two recent snowstorms. You help keep our neighborhood streets walkable for everyone.
And just a reminder to the rest of us--it is every property owner's responsibility to see that their sidewalks are cleared. For those of you who are unable to clear your sidewalks because of health problems or being out of town when the snow falls, we encourage you to make arrangements with a neighbor, or find a neighborhood kid who is looking for a little extra cash. If you need help finding someone, send a note to the website and we'll see what we can do.
